Common Home Services Franchise Questions and Answers

There are no silly questions, only questions that haven’t been asked yet! Let’s find out the most essential answers to make sure we’re the right fit for you:

How much does a franchise cost?

When you buy a Fuse Service franchise, there are two main fees to consider: the initial franchise fee and monthly royalties. The initial franchise fee is a one-time payment of $24,000 when you join. Royalties are monthly payments based on your revenue, ranging from 3% to 1.5%, decreasing as your sales grow.

Our franchise agreements last for 10 years with an option to renew. We’re committed to building long-term partnerships with our franchisees.

No, we require owners to be actively involved in their local market. Being on-site is critical for maintaining service quality, managing your team, and responding quickly to issues. Living and working in the same area also strengthens local partnerships and helps with effective marketing — your branded vehicles, for instance, serve as moving billboards in your community.

Everyone wants to know about earnings, but unfortunately, we can’t guarantee any income — it’s against the law to make profit promises. Every franchise is unique, and your success will depend on several factors, especially your dedication to working hard and following our proven system. The biggest advantage of joining a franchise is having a tried-and-true business model, continuous support from our team, and an established brand behind you.

Experience helps but isn’t required. Even if you’ve never handled a power tool, you can still become a Fuse Service franchisee. We offer comprehensive training at our headquarters in San Jose, California. The program includes online theory courses and hands-on practical training covering service work, installations, project management, sales, and inspections. All franchisees and their employees get unlimited, free access to Fuse School courses anytime.

We’re looking for motivated individuals ready to grow in the HVAC and appliance repair industry. While experience is helpful, it’s not required—just be prepared to learn. The ideal candidate is between 25 and 40 years old (though that’s not a hard rule), has the financial means to start a business, and speaks English at a B1/B2 level to communicate with clients effectively. Previous business or management experience is a plus. We interview all candidates to ensure our goals and expectations align.

We don’t guarantee leads, but we offer extensive marketing support. Our partnerships with platforms like Yelp and Thumbtack give you access to exclusive advertising deals. Plus, you’ll receive marketing materials and campaign setup guidance to help attract a steady stream of customers.

No, you’ll need to build your own team. However, we’ll guide you with recruitment strategies, training resources, and hiring tools. Franchisees also get access to our Fuse School graduate network and job postings via our Telegram channel to find qualified candidates.

Having your own HVAC license isn’t just about compliance — t’s a major business asset. It allows you to work legally, purchase equipment at lower costs, bid on commercial and government projects, and boost customer trust. A license can open doors to higher revenue and more business opportunities.
